                      Trump Resign Music Video Contest Winners

 

Congratulations to the winners of the 2020 Trump Resign Music Video Contest, sponsored by Nat Pernick, a Detroit area physician and political activist.

Scott Smith won the First Place Prize of $500. The video of the rap “Trump Gotta Go!” is at https://youtu.be/6rg12TUimKQ. Scott is an aspiring artist. This video came together when he and his girlfriend Leah Segal were desperate for fun during the coronavirus pandemic. "This video gave us a creative outlet to express our political angst and be funny with it," said Smith.

The Cardboard Tubes, a Detroit area comedy band, won the Second Place Prize of $100.  The video of the song, "President Grab Them By The Pussy," an anti-Trump anthem, is at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N_1fRkggSgY&feature=youtu.be. This video was shot in November 2019 during the run-up to Donald Trump’s first impeachment. “We would like to thank Nat Pernick, for his good taste in picking our video for the Second Place Prize; our videographer, Barry Klein, for his excellent work in shooting the video; and our consultant, Jill Jack, for letting us know about this contest,” said Hornstein.

 

“Some may find the title of our song raunchy,” he said. “But Trump said ‘Grab them by the pussy’ on an Access Hollywood tape and he has refused to apologize for it. This statement, which amounts to an endorsement of sexual assault, says volumes about Trump’s defective character, thereby making it an appropriate theme for our song and an appropriate nickname for Trump.

“It should be noted that our song says nothing about Trump resigning. Resigning would have been the best thing Trump could have done, but that would have made too much sense. With his Big Lie falsely claiming that the 2020 presidential election was stolen from him, Trump proved that he will never resign. Instead, he showed that he is a liar, sore loser and fascist.  Trump clearly lost the election to Joe Biden by a popular vote margin of more than 7 million votes.  Rather than concede, as election losers normally do, Trump falsely claimed election fraud, for which he offered no evidence.  After a Justice Department investigation, his attorney general, Bill Barr, concluded that there was no fraud.  Trump then threw Barr under the bus, forcing him to resign.  Trump filed more than 60 frivolous lawsuits attempting to overturn election results and lost all of them because he had no evidence.  Finally, on January 6, 2021, Trump attempted a coup, with thousands of his supporters storming the U.S. Capitol in an attempt to stop the confirmation of Trump's 306-232 Electoral College loss to Biden.  Five people died and more than 100 police officers were injured.  This was treason, and Trump belongs in prison for it."
